Kent VW Festival 2018

This year the show returned back to Coldred in Dover, as we set up on Thursday it was a scorcher of a day at 37C and it was looking to be a sunny weekend… then Friday night around 7.30pm a great cloud that looked like a sausage roll rolled over the campsite followed by a massive updraft of wind lifting and snapping gazebos and tents everywhere. For those who survived the aftermath we were treated to some amazing bands throughout the weekend, a funfair and plenty of activities for the kids to enjoy.

We clocked in around 430 cars, thanks to everyone who turned up and purchased prints and mugs. Find purchased images below; which you can use on your social media.

Didn’t manage to view your car? Email darren@darrenwoolway.co.uk with rougly the time you entered on Friday along with your car make, model, colour and reg and we I try to find it for you.

Kent Kit, Custom, American & All Ford Show 2018

This years show was an absolute scorcher, makes an amazing difference compared to all the rain we had during the show season last year. Talking of rain the Kent All Ford Show was cancelled in April due to a waterlogged field and combined this July with the Kent Kit, Custom and American Car show. We clocked in around 650 cars, thanks to everyone who turned up and purchased prints and mugs. Find purchased images below which you can use on your social media.

Didn’t manage to view your car? Email darren@darrenwoolway.co.uk with your entry time (written on the orange card), your car make, model, colour and reg and we I try to find it for you.

RWB UK Trailer

Currently I am working on a short documentary showing the build of the first Rauh-Welt Begriff 964 Porsche 911 build in the UK. RWB is run by Japanese car designer Nakai-San, he creates wide arch body kits for Porsche’s and tailors the cars ride to that of the driver.

In the last year alone Nakai-San has built over 60 RWB’s across the world, his designs are now so famous that they are used in The Need for Speed video games. This 964 is the first to sport the Royale wide arches and Fender wings and is also one of the first to have a sound system.

The full feature is expected to be 20-30 mins in length and will be released late in 2016. For now I hope you enjoy this 36 second teaser. To keep updated on the progress follow my social sites which are available at the top of the page.

1955 Chevy Bel Air – ACM

At the end of last year I went to photograph two Chevy Bel Air’s, one of which you have previously seen in American Car Magazine, the ’57 four door in blue. In this months edition of ACM the second has been released, a ’55 two door in gypsy red and cream owned by Colin Cross in Higham.

The shoot took place at the popular wedding venue Knowle House who were extremely accomodating, perhaps I may even get married here. It is a beautiful location and we had a fabulous day. The sports coupe has been beautifully restored, the chrome work is fantastic and it has some nice subtle mods to bring it up to date. I don’t want to give too much away here so go grab yourself a copy from your nearest WHSmith to find out more about it.

GMC Pickup – ACM

Ted’s Custom GMC Pick Up caught my eye immediately when I saw it at Aylesford’s American and Custom Car show last year and this month it makes its début in American Car Magazine. There is a pinup style that runs throughout the design from the rather suggestive painted graphics on the outside to the pin-up posters on the roof lining. It is a 1957 GMC 1/2 tonne pick up with a Chevy 350 small-block V8, set on air suspension this truck goes so low that major chassis adjustments were made to allow the prop-shaft a little more room. To find out more about this vehicle and the story behind it grab yourself a copy of the magazine. Below are a selection of images from the shoot:

1959 Chevrolet Apache – ACM

In the December issue of American Car Magazine you will see this customised 1952 Chevrolet Apache that I photographed back in May. It was a car photography shoot I did for Nigel, who is part of the Green Fish Racing team; this was photographed in a barn in Kent. It has a Mopar lump in it and pushes around 500-550bhp. It is available in the shops now so make sure you grab a copy to find out more about it.

Below you will find a selection of images from the shoot:

GMC Pickup BTS

Today I have had the pleasure of meeting Ted and photographing his GMC pick up truck. Sitting under the bonnet is a 360 Chevy with 400 turbo blocks. It has a traction rear axle and TCI front clip, a 4 bar rear end with watch linkage and slammed with air bags.

Look out for the official images and story coming out in American Car Magazine magazine over the next few months.
