Firetherm takeover

Firetherm, a company specialising in fires stopping products, sealants and coatings has just be taken over by Tremco Illbruck. Part of the rebranding has included new fleet vehicles.

I was asked to visit their headquarters in Crayford, Kent to photograph their new fleet. The background of the images were not important as they planned on cutting the vehicles out and either placing on white or compositing a new scene in. Below are a few images from the shoot:

MKIII Ford Escort Estate – Classic Ford Magazine

This months special in Classic Ford Magazine is all about Estates. I met up with Rob Amat and his other half to photograph his MKIII Escort Estate, it was a fun shoot with a lot to laugh and talk about. We found a nice underground carpark with some interesting yellow pipes running along the background. To read the full article pick up a copy of the latest issue. Below are some images from the shoot:

The Royal Photographic Society Journal – Masters Tips

The Royal Photographic  Society has been of great help to me over the past few years and really aided in my research for my photographic degree. Every year I attend the annual awards held at The Royal Society in London, this gives me great inspiration and the opportunity to meet many other great artists.

Last year I graduated with first class honours and the society gave me a feature about the work I completed for my degree, since then they have followed my work and my progression. About a month and a half ago I was approached by the Journal to share some hints and tips on creating realistic looking composites, over the past year this has become one of my most sought after talks. To see where I will be giving this talk in the future or to book please visit http://training.raidphotographic.co.uk

If you are a member of The RPS you should have received your journal this morning through the post, to find out more about the society please visit www.rps.org

Ford Granada GXL MKI

Typically luck has it when we took this rare MKI Ford Granada GXL out to shoot for Classic Ford Magazine it was bin day, using the car to hide some of the bins and then some clever Photoshop work we managed to create a nice set of images. Danny has lovingly restored this Granada but made a silly mistake of bending the front strip of chrome off to realise later how rare the piece is with the last one on eBay fetching a whooping £2000. To read more about this Granada grab yourself the Summer 2016 issue of Classic Ford Magazine.

1955 Chevy Bel Air – ACM

At the end of last year I went to photograph two Chevy Bel Air’s, one of which you have previously seen in American Car Magazine, the ’57 four door in blue. In this months edition of ACM the second has been released, a ’55 two door in gypsy red and cream owned by Colin Cross in Higham.

The shoot took place at the popular wedding venue Knowle House who were extremely accomodating, perhaps I may even get married here. It is a beautiful location and we had a fabulous day. The sports coupe has been beautifully restored, the chrome work is fantastic and it has some nice subtle mods to bring it up to date. I don’t want to give too much away here so go grab yourself a copy from your nearest WHSmith to find out more about it.

The Drifters – Jahson Charity Event

Ex-Drifters star sings his heart out to help boy walk

From time to time I get involved in some charity events as my partner works for the Kent Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance service. One of her colleagues, Veronica Wiseman was running an event to help pay for a vital operation to help Ruban be able to walk again, and I volunteered to cover the evening photographically of which was then used to help publicise his cause in the Kent Messenger. The operation costs a staggering £80,000 which will help release the tension in his leg ligaments followed by a lot of physiotherapy to help strengthen his legs allowing him to walk again.

Ruban’s parents Darren and Becki Chappel were overwhelmed by the turnout at the event held at Chatham Suburban Club. Jahson previous lead singer of The Drifters sang his heart out all night and didn’t even charge for petrol, he was surprised with some presents and a birthday cake as was his birthday the next day. The event finished with a staggering £2500 being raised, if you wish to donate please visit http://bit.ly/1TnNXrB

Simon Shaw’s MKI Cossie – CFM

In this months issue of Classic Ford Magazine you can find a feature on Simon Shaw’s MKI Escort Cosworth, we photographed this on a cold day in December and found a really cool looking old urban estate.

When it started to get a little darker we headed down to the arcades on the seafront where we met a security guard who though he knew better about the law of photography and decided to pace up and down by the car. Luckily for us he didn’t realise that all the time he moves it is really easy to remove him from the image. Below you will find a selection of the images we took on the day, for the full feature grab a copy of the May issue of Classic Ford Magazine.

Kent All Ford Show 2016

This year’s All Ford Show in Kent at The Friars, Aylesford Priory was fantastic. It was the first time I tried photographing cars at an event and providing prints on the day and it was well received. With approximately 320 cars in attendance this pushes last years numbers up 100 cars, there were 400 booked but it was raining first thing in the morning.

Below are a selection of the 300+ cars that I shot that day from modern day Fords, Classic and Heritage and even the odd American and custom car.

Air Lift Performance

Last month we went out with Jamie a young car enthusiast from Kent to photograph his Audi A6 Estate. The A6 is his daily drive and at home he is working on a fast Ford 100E Escort. The problem with modifying cars is once you start you just can’t stop and it appears Jamie has got the bug.

Even though it is less than a month since our last shoot he has already added an air ride system and a custom front grille, this means that he was desperate to get some update images of it to show the before and after. Having suggested that he would like to shoot in London I found an idyllic location, the weather Monday evening was far from perfect and although I advised against it we still went out.

In-between the breaks in the rain we quickly shammied down the car and started shooting, the results were great despite the weather. Have a look at the gallery below:
