1955 Chevy Bel Air – ACM

At the end of last year I went to photograph two Chevy Bel Air’s, one of which you have previously seen in American Car Magazine, the ’57 four door in blue. In this months edition of ACM the second has been released, a ’55 two door in gypsy red and cream owned by Colin Cross in Higham.

The shoot took place at the popular wedding venue Knowle House who were extremely accomodating, perhaps I may even get married here. It is a beautiful location and we had a fabulous day. The sports coupe has been beautifully restored, the chrome work is fantastic and it has some nice subtle mods to bring it up to date. I don’t want to give too much away here so go grab yourself a copy from your nearest WHSmith to find out more about it.

The Drifters – Jahson Charity Event

Ex-Drifters star sings his heart out to help boy walk

From time to time I get involved in some charity events as my partner works for the Kent Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance service. One of her colleagues, Veronica Wiseman was running an event to help pay for a vital operation to help Ruban be able to walk again, and I volunteered to cover the evening photographically of which was then used to help publicise his cause in the Kent Messenger. The operation costs a staggering £80,000 which will help release the tension in his leg ligaments followed by a lot of physiotherapy to help strengthen his legs allowing him to walk again.

Ruban’s parents Darren and Becki Chappel were overwhelmed by the turnout at the event held at Chatham Suburban Club. Jahson previous lead singer of The Drifters sang his heart out all night and didn’t even charge for petrol, he was surprised with some presents and a birthday cake as was his birthday the next day. The event finished with a staggering £2500 being raised, if you wish to donate please visit http://bit.ly/1TnNXrB

Simon Shaw’s MKI Cossie – CFM

In this months issue of Classic Ford Magazine you can find a feature on Simon Shaw’s MKI Escort Cosworth, we photographed this on a cold day in December and found a really cool looking old urban estate.

When it started to get a little darker we headed down to the arcades on the seafront where we met a security guard who though he knew better about the law of photography and decided to pace up and down by the car. Luckily for us he didn’t realise that all the time he moves it is really easy to remove him from the image. Below you will find a selection of the images we took on the day, for the full feature grab a copy of the May issue of Classic Ford Magazine.
